Please note: <strong>Those who have not previously presented the results of their work at any technical forum<\/strong> <strong>are eligible for the award.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Key Dates<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>September\u2013October 2026:<\/strong> Calls for Abstracts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>November\u2013December 2026:<\/strong>\u00a0Local\/regional competitions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>February 28, 2027:<\/strong>\u00a0Final regional winning papers due to VFS Headquarters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>April 2027:<\/strong>\u00a0National-level winner announced by VFS HQ<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The winner of the National Lichten Award Competition will be invited to present their paper at\u00a0VFS Forum 83 and will receive the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>National Winner:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Invited to present at Forum 82<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel support up to $1,500 (US)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complimentary Forum registration and lodging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$500 honorarium sponsored by Bell<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Runner-Up:<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Opportunity to present at Forum 82<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complimentary registration and official certificate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If interested, please email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:federalcityvfs@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">info@fcc.vtol.org<\/a> with your presentation title, a brief abstract, and a short biography no later than\u00a0<strong><u>October 31st, 202<\/u><\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>7<\/strong><\/span>. Participants will compete in-person to select the winner of the Southeast Region competition. The winning presentation must prepare and submit a written paper to VFS headquarters by\u00a0<strong><u>February 28, 202<\/u><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">7<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Lichten Award was established in 1975 to honor the memory of Robert L.
